Grade 12 learners studying South African Sign Language (SASL) can use previous examination papers to practise their language skills and become familiar with different assessment tasks. Prepare for SASL Examinations Through Practice
South African Sign Language is a visual language, so effective preparation involves paying close attention to how meaning is communicated through signs, facial expression, body movement and context. Revision should therefore combine knowledge of language conventions with regular practice.
Work through previous questions carefully and consider the context in which each communication task occurs. When reviewing your answers, focus on whether your response communicates the intended meaning accurately and follows the requirements of the question.
Where a memorandum or other assessment guidance is available, use it after attempting the questions independently. Note recurring difficulties and revisit those areas as part of your ongoing CAPS revision.
